We can all look forward to a warmer welcome at Bishopstone Station soon after a generous offer from The Railway Heritage Trust for a £30,000 grant matching that of the GTR Passenger Benefit Fund Team with a plan to restore and reopen the waiting room at Bishopstone Station closed since the 1980’s. Those of you who frequent Bishopstone will know how cold the wind coming from the sea can be and will welcome somewhere which provides some shelter!

Thanks to the ongoing incredible hard work and dedication of the Friends of Bishopstone who have helped to transform this station from when I first stepped foot onto the platform 3 years ago. The group started by chair Barbara Mine and supported by a dedicated team and SCRP, have kept a regular presence at the station through artwork, history events and gardening they have put this amazing Grade II listed station on the map.
