A Signalman’s Story in Sussex – Arundel Museum 23rd August 7pm
August 23 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm| £2.50
Ted Cook was the youngest signalman ever appointed by British Rail. He was based at Amberley, and enjoyed a long and interesting career on the railways, starting at the age of 15 and working in Sussex and Leicester. This is a humourous slideshow about life behind the scenes. Come and hear about how it was to work on the railways not so long ago, but certainly before the modern railway that we know today.
Ted has also written a number of novels, based on his experiences of the railway and its surrounding environment. The books can be purchased at a very reasonable cost of £3 each, or £5 for two books.
