Amberley Museum, Modern and Historic Response Vehicles Weekend
June 23, 2018 @ 10:00 am - June 24, 2018 @ 5:00 pm
On Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June, Amberley Museum will be hosting their annual Emergency Services Weekend. A weekend to celebrate and showcase the emergency services, giving an opportunity for visitors to meet members of the emergency service crew and have a close look at historic and modern response vehicles.
The show this year is fully supported by the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, and they hope to have their new ALP from Worthing along with the Technical Rescue Unit from Horley. With three stations attending over the two days (subject to operation commitments), they will be doing rescue displays on cars up in the Museums white pit by the Paviors exhibit.
The historic preserved Fire Service appliances will be on static display around the Museum, along with a presence from the RNLI, Police vehicles, RAF vehicles and model displays.
Amberley Museum is a remarkable heritage site in the Sussex South Downs, with 36 acres to explore and over 40 exhibit buildings to visit, focusing on industrial and transport history. Take a ride on the narrow gauge railway and historic bus. Exhibits include the telecommunications hall, electricity hall, working printshop, lime kilns, steam engines and more.
The Museum is home to traditional craftspeople such as the Woodturners and Blacksmith, with a café, gift shop, nature trails and picnic areas. The Museum is accessibility friendly and dogs are welcome on site.
This year the Museum is celebrating its 40th season, and they are hosting over 50 events in 2018 from children’s activity days to classic vehicle shows. They will be open from the 7th March to 28th October, for more information on their events, or education programme, please see their website for full details www.amberleymuseum.co.uk.
