Crawley Signal Box is open to the public on certain days throughout the year, with Free Entry!
Crawley Signal Box Open Day
FREE ENTRY 12 Noon to 4pm
The box is located at the south end of Crawley High Street alongside the level crossing.
The signal box dates from around the 1870s and was closed by British Railways in 1986. The Society took over in 1992 and after much hard work, some of it unpleasant, to restore the box we started opening it to the public. Members of the Society will be on hand to explain the boxes place in the signalling systems of the steam age and all are welcome to come and pull a lever.
The Signal Box will be open on Saturdays during 2018: 17th March; 21st April; 19th May; 16th June; 14th July; 15th September.
