Sussex CRP working with Southern Railways is committed to creating a network of local community Station Partnerships.

These voluntary partnerships lead by local people have created wonderful station gardens, artwork and much more in rural stations such as Plumpton and urban stations such as Haywards Heath.

They are all very individual but share  a love of their station and a desire to create positive voluntary actions at stations.

Community Transport Sussex requires part-time drivers to assist with their local community transport operation. You will be driving wheelchair accessible minibuses around the local area taking SEN children to and from school, as well as helping to transport older people, those with disabilities and local community groups on day trips. this is a part-time position with flexible hours to suit. Positions available in Crawley, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, East Grinstead and Horsham. Salary: £8.50 an hour with 12% holiday pay for hours worked. The Sussex Community Rail Partnership Ltd is looking to appoint an independent Director to its Board.

The Company is a not for profit organisation and all its Directors are volunteers. The company employs 2 full time and 3 part time staff, based at a number of locations around Sussex.

Sussex Community Rail Partnership works to connect the community with its railway, enhance station environments, support station partnerships, support the local economy and promote public transport modal shift.

The Company is seeking a motivated and competent individual who can bring experience and knowledge of financial management onto the board to support our current Financial Director. The Company has seen rapid expansion over the last 3 years and is working with Community Groups, Local Authorities and the train operating company in a challenging financial climate. This is an interesting, challenging and exciting role.

As a Board member you would be expected to attend our regular Board meetings, approximately 4 per year and our Stakeholder Advisory Board meetings, approximately 2 per year. In addition, there will be opportunities to attend meetings with our partners and projects/events organised by the Company across our area of activity.

We are carrying out a survey to gather options about the Seaford to Brighton railway line and to allow better understanding of how people use the line. It is being run by the Sussex Community Rail Partnership which works to reconnect the community with its railway. The partnership includes Southern Railway, East Sussex County Council and Brighton and Hove City Council, Lewes District Council and the Town Councils of Seaford, Newhaven and Lewes.

East Sussex Footpath Secretary
The Ramblers Association is looking for an East Sussex Footpath Secretary to replace the current member who will retire in January 2016. It is expected that the successful applicant would have a love of the countryside and walking. This voluntary role deals with rights of way in East Sussex on behalf of The Ramblers. The main activities are advising on diversion requests received from East Sussex County Council and liaising with a network of parish-based Ramblers Local Footpath Secretaries who do the reconnaissance work on the ground.
