2012 Ore Tunnel Closed
Network Rail have confirmed Ore Tunnel Closure. The tunnel is closed from 09.01.12 to 11.03.12 with no train services running at all from Hastings to Ashford during this time. Details of the fare arrangements are now also available, see link below. Dec 2011 Cable Theft - putting us all at risk - Act Now!
Cable theft from our railways is a problem which affects all train operating companies. In recent months, Southern has experienced two cable theft incidents. On Tuesday 6 September this year a large length of cable was stolen from the railway near London Bridge. This resulted in disruption for both the Sussex and Kent routes, with 10,610 delay minutes, and 176 cancellations. The second incident was at Littlehampton on the same day, and saw an additional 3,227 in delay minutes as well as 46 more cancellations. Southern is therefore supporting a Government e-petition on metal theft, ahead of a Private Members Bill being presented............
