Feb 2012 Adur Council Station Partnership at Worthing and Shoreham
Worthing and Shoreham railway stations are ready to welcome visitors. Brand new brochure racks have been installed at Worthing and Shoreham-by-Sea railway stations as part of a bigger project to improve the visitor welcome in our region. Visitors to both towns will be able to pick up local visitor information on their arrival helping them to really make the most of their time here. The racks contain copies of the Worthing Pocket Guide and the Worthing Events Guide will be added in a few weeks. 2012 Volunteer Opportunity - Community Art Projects

2012 Ore Tunnel Closed
Network Rail have confirmed Ore Tunnel Closure. The tunnel is closed from 09.01.12 to 11.03.12 with no train services running at all from Hastings to Ashford during this time. Details of the fare arrangements are now also available, see link below. Dec 2011 Cable Theft - putting us all at risk - Act Now!
Cable theft from our railways is a problem which affects all train operating companies. In recent months, Southern has experienced two cable theft incidents. On Tuesday 6 September this year a large length of cable was stolen from the railway near London Bridge. This resulted in disruption for both the Sussex and Kent routes, with 10,610 delay minutes, and 176 cancellations. The second incident was at Littlehampton on the same day, and saw an additional 3,227 in delay minutes as well as 46 more cancellations. Southern is therefore supporting a Government e-petition on metal theft, ahead of a Private Members Bill being presented............

Sept 2011 Collyers College brings Art to Horsham Station
Collyers student this week displayed their Artwork on the hoardings surrounding Horsham Sation during the current building works, the artwork was well recieved and will be on display for station users to see. The artists all attend Collyers 6th Form College in Hurst Road, Horsham. If your using the station or passing through and have a moment take a look at their great work.............
Aug 2011 Uckfield & East Grinstead Stakeholder Meeting
The Annual Uckfield & East Grinstead Stakeholder Meeting was held on 2nd August at Tandridge District Council Offices from 4.30 - 7pm. The minutes will be available here shortly. July 2011 Winchelsea Circular Walk
Wednesday 6th July @ Winchelsea Station, Winchelsea, meeting at 9.55am. The author of Walks in 1066 County, Nick Brown, will be leading a circular walk from Winchelsea station on Wednesday 6th July. Its free and sounds like a lovely way to spend the morning. Nick writes: "This is a very scenic 4.25 mile walk along quiet lanes early on before cutting across country with great views approaching Rye. Returning via the National Cycle Network route 2 track and the 1066 Country Walk path. Short tea room stop in Rye at halfway! DIFFICULTY RATING 1 ... March 2011 Buns at Barnham, Sausages at Chichester Station.
Buns, Sausages, Flaxjacks, and Breads - Were just a few things on offer at four different stalls being held at stations along the Arun Valley last Saturday. Passengers were pleasantly surprised to see a number of locally produced items being sold on 4 stations along the Line: Chichester, Barnham, Horsham and Arundel. O'Hagan's sauages held a BBQ at Chichester Station, Flax Farm were selling their porridges and flapjacks at Horsham, the Aldingbourne Trust had a selection of their plants and foods on offer at Arundel and Slindon Bakery had a stall full of their tempting breads and buns in the underpass............
March 2011 Spa Valley runs to Eridge after 26 years!!
Spa Valley Railway finally run to Eridge Station after 26 years!! On Friday 25th March the Spa Valley Railway will run their first ever hertiage services from Eridge to Tunbridge Wells. Feb 2011 Train Trip for Chichester School
Tuesday 8th February - a class of Reception children from St Richards School in Chichester had a trip on a train.Learning about safety issues from the Station Manager Terry Green, at Chichester, the children then boarded the train to Barnham. At Barnham Chris the Platform Assistant showed the children the station and how disabled ramps fir on the trains. the For some of the children it was the first time they had taken a train ride. 'That trip was awesome' said one little boy on the walk back to school.............
