• Lingfield
Lingfield is a large village. The area around the church is a conservation area and includes many 16th to 18th century buildings. In the main street there is a cross and village cage. Last used in 1882 to hold a poacher, the cage was built in 1773. The church of St Peter and St Paul is an impressive building, known as the 'Westminster Abbey' of the south east. Its collection of brasses and monuments is amongst the finest in England.
The Lingfield Reserves are 2 adjoining nature reserves run by local volunteers for all to enjoy. The reserves lie in the Surrey Low Weald and provide varied habitats and lovely views of the North Downs about eight miles away.
