• Crowborough
Centred in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, bustling Crowborough is built on an ancient Beacon Hill. The camp site at Goldsmiths, close to the leisure centre, affords spectacular views and is only half a mile from the
town centre and bluebell woods still survive there. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the Sherlock Holmes stories lived in Crowborough until his death in 1930. A statue in the town centre celebrates his life.
