Get Involved

Would your school, college or youth group like to get more involved with their local railway?

Adopt your local station

Adopt your local station

Become a station partner and help to make your local station a more welcoming place. Schools, colleges and youth groups can display artwork, photography or poetry, set up a book stall or create planting displays. Stations can be a great place to hold events with community participation.
We can work with you on one-off larger projects like creating a mural.

Cubs and Scouts

Cubs and Scouts

Do you want to take your Cub or Scout group on an evening train trip? We offer a station visit and return train ride (usually to the next station) with a member of Southern staff. The visit will include:

  • completing the ‘My Station Visit’ booklet with questions about safety, signage, and facilities at the station
  • completing the ‘I spy on my train journey’ booklet on their train ride.

Leaders will be provided with a PowerPoint presentation before the station visit to discuss with your youth group.

To book your Cub or Scout group visit, please contact GTR direct at who will reply within 3 – 5 working days.
