In the month of June volunteers working on Reg’s Garden adjacent to Farnborough North Station have clocked up nearly 200 hours ! The main tasks have been breaking down pallets from Gibbs & Dandy, shaping them and building picket fencing or planters.

Garden Project co-ordinator Mike Knott commented that the first super-sized planter ‘had the look of a class 150’, painted as it is in GWR green. Early this week, Station Master Mal Thurman begged to differ – ‘ it looks more like a 769’ he said ! The plan now is to see if GWR have any transfers going spare and to decorate the planter appropriately.

Mike is hoping to borrow a couple of brushcutters locally and begin the arduous task of clearing the brambles away, in readiness for laying a track to the Food Farm at the far end of the garden.

Once again there will be work Saturday , Sunday and Monday coming with plenty of tasks for all, keeping the correct social distance at all times.
